From the moment we arrived, the concierge greeted us and escorted us to check-in. Secrets Moxché has two check-in areas—one for non-Preferred Club guests and another for Preferred Club guests. While the Preferred Club lobby is slightly more exclusive, the arrival experience for both is seamless.
💡 Tip: If you arrive before 3 PM, your room may not be ready. The best way to start your vacation? Grab a cocktail and enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the resort’s fantastic restaurants!
First Impressions & First Meal: A Perfect Welcome
We kicked off our stay with lunch at Seasoul, the beachfront seafood restaurant. The open-air setting, ocean breeze, and calming sounds of birds made for an unforgettable start. We ordered based on our appetite that day, and every bite was perfection. My favorite was the shrimp and the fish tacos (Check out the food photos below!)
Poolside Relaxation & Room Reveal
After lunch, we lounged by the cenote pool, one of the quieter, more private areas of the resort. Space is limited here, but we got lucky with a lounge bed. About 30 minutes later, we received the call—our room was ready!
Our Room: The Reality of a Tropical View Suite
As a travel advisor, I often earn complimentary stays, and for this trip, we had the Tropical View Junior Suite—an entry-level room. At check-in, the front desk mentioned there was no real view, and they weren’t wrong! While a rooftop blocked most of our scenery, stepping onto the balcony and peering around the corner revealed a glimpse of the ocean.

One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the food. While every meal was excellent, these were our top-ranked restaurants:
- Bisou – French restaurant, the best meal of our entire stay! We had the Salmon, Sea Bass, and Truffled Oysters which were beyond delicious.
- Allora – Italian Cuisine. The pizza is so damn good, and so are the pasta dishes.
- Bamboo – Thai Dishes for lunch. I also had a great mango mojito con malibu here and the best Thai Fish.
- Seasoul – The ideal beachfront seafood experience, we tried it for lunch and breakfast. They had the best Goat Cheese omelet I had tried.
- Suki – Japanese Restaurant for some sushi.
- Dos Almas – classic Mexican flavors with gourmet twist!
- Observatory – The Preferred Club exclusive restaurant on the rooftop has the best carrot cake.
Pools, Beaches & Activities: So Many Choices!
Secrets Moxché is not short on places to relax. Here’s what stood out:
Pools: From the lagoon and cenote pools to the see-through glass pool and rooftop infinity pool, there are endless places to lounge.
Beach: The beach here isn’t as pristine as Maroma or Tulum, but the resort has built concrete blocks to minimize seaweed. Beach workers also keep it clean throughout the day.
Activities: There’s always something happening—from morning water aerobics at the active pool to nighttime shows at the theater and live music by the lagoon. For adventure lovers, the resort offers kayaking, paddleboarding, and even a hobby cat. We enjoyed kayaking one afternoon all over the beach!
Nightlife: The speakeasy bar turns into a nightclub, and if you get hungry after partying, don’t miss the late-night taco stand! There’s also a sports bar and a 24/7 café.
Secrets Moxché vs. Impression Moxché: What’s the Difference?
Impression Moxché is the ultra-luxury side of the resort, designed to offer an elevated experience for those seeking extra exclusivity. Guests staying at Impression Moxché enjoy a private lobby and check-in area, premium alcohol selections, and personalized welcome gifts. They also have access to an additional rooftop pool and a private beach area, making their stay even more exclusive. The rooms at Impression Moxché are more spacious, featuring luxurious amenities, including bathtubs on the balcony for an added touch of indulgence.
