When you think of luxury destination wedding that blends 5-star service, breathtaking views, and various experiences, Casa De Campo Resort and Villas in the Dominican Republic should be at the top of your list. Recently, I spent 5 days of training, touring, *eating*, and experiencing to become a Certified Casa De Campo Destination Wedding agent. While I had the honor to attend this immersive FAM, I get to realize that this isn’t just a venue-it’s an experience and I would like to share it with you.
With over 7,000 acres of private paradise, Casa de Campo offers a dreamy blend of elegance, adventure, and hospitality. Whether you’re envisioning an intimate elopement or a multi-day wedding celebration with all your favorite people, this iconic property has something for everyone.
First Impressions…
Casa de Campo isn’t your typical resort. It’s a sprawling private estate made up of hotel rooms, private villas, and a residential community. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by lush landscapes, open-air design, and that feeling of “Wow! I get to experience this in my life!”.
The property is divided into various areas, including hotel rooms, the spa, premier lounges, villas, and restaurants, spread throughout the entire estate. Touches like dedicated concierge service, private golf carts for every room, and seamless access to restaurants, golf, beach, and spa services are all available within reach.
My Foodie Experience
I don’t say this lightly enough, BUT I had the best meals at Casa De Campo. If you’re a foodie or have foodie guests, Casa de Campo delivers a gastronomic journey like no other. Honestly, it’s some of the best food I’ve had in the Dominican Republic. There are multiple fine dining restaurants, snacks, cafes, food trucks, and there are private owned restaurants too at the Marina and Altos De Chavon.
For events, the catering team absolutely impressed us with options from the banquet menu! If you like a short vlog overview of my banquet experience, you can view it below!
Rooms, Suites, & Villas
One of the most unique features of Casa de Campo is the wide variety of accommodations. From cozy Casita Rooms to the newest Premier Club Junior Suites, every guest has their own golf cart for exploring the grounds. I stayed at the premier club suites, and they are building more premier suites. There’s also a n additional pool area for premier suites guests coming soon. Also note, that the property is huge thus the need of golf carts. There are restuarants near the hotel area, and some are at the Marina, the beach, and Altos de Chavon. If you don’t like driving golf carts, you can schedule a ride instead.
Then there are the villas. Ranging from 3-bedroom to 12-bedroom layouts, these private homes are individually owned and decorated, with each one offering a different vibe. Every villa includes:
- A private pool
- A personal butler
- Daily maid service
- Private chef
- Concierge team
Rates range between $500–$1,000 per person/per night for villas & hotel rooms ranging from $250-500 per person/per night, and can be bundled into your wedding room block. Just note: while you can host small welcome parties or cocktail hours at villas (with events ending by 11 PM), receptions are not permitted in villa spaces due to community restrictions.
Wedding packages from Intimate Elopements to Big Celebrations
Casa de Campo offers an impressive range of wedding packages, starting at $9,500 and going up to $32,500. These packages typically include:
- A dedicated wedding coordinator
- Private ceremony & reception locations
- Pre-wedding events
- Bridal suite access
- Welcome amenities
- Floral arrangements
- Cocktail hour
- Gourmet reception dinner
Each package covers a guest count ranging from 26 to 58 people, including the couple. Additional guests are allowed of course with an extra person fee on top of the package cost.
Wedding Credit Bonus
If you opt for an all-inclusive room block, you’ll receive a credit of $80–$150 per person toward your wedding package. This can make a major difference in your overall budget, and is one of the resort’s best perks for wedding groups, as you will get as much as $8000 credit towards your wedding package.
Wedding Venues
While I’ll be showcasing the individual venues in a separate post (because they seriously deserve their own spotlight!), here’s a quick peek:
- Altos de Chavón Church – A breathtaking replica of a 16th-century Mediterranean village chapel; perfect for Catholic weddings
- The Beach Club by Le Cirque – Elegant, oceanfront, and free from seaweed
- Private garden spaces and secluded terraces – Ideal for smaller ceremonies or cocktail hours
You can also plan boat excursions to nearby Catalina Island, which is just a short 25-minute boat ride away and offers the perfect photo ops or post-wedding day trip. There’s a boat that leaves the beach club for Catalina Island, and the fare is $45.00 per person.
Catholic Weddings
Planning a catholic wedding at Casa De Campo? You’re in luck! The property has a stunning Catholic Church at Altos de Chavon. Just a heads up: Catholic weddings are not held in July, every Monday, or during the 5 weeks leading up to Easter Sunday, so plan accordingly.
Vendor Policies You Should Know
As a Destination Wedding Travel Agent, one of the most common questions I get is about outside vendors. Here’s what you need to know:
- Outside photographers are permitted, subject to a vendor fee. The vendor fee is waived if they’re staying under the room block for 3 nights.
- Hair and makeup teams can be brought in without a vendor fee.
- Flowers and decor vendors must be from the resort’s approved list, they don’t allow outside vendor.
These guidelines help ensure a smooth, high-quality experience (and yes, they’ll save you from having to micromanage vendor logistics in a foreign country!).
Group Travel Logistics
Because the property is huge, having someone to guide you through the logistics with your group is key to having a successful wedding event at Casa De Campo. Most ceremony locations are about 15-25 minutes away from the main hotel room. Ensure that transfers from the hotel area to the wedding event are included, allowing everyone to arrive and depart at the same time. Some buses can hold from 30-50 guests at the same time, and the rates range from $120-$175, which covers 3 hours and unlimited trips within that time frame. This is one of those times when having a travel advisor (hi, that’s me!) can make or break the experience. I’ll help you coordinate everything from room blocks to transportation so no one’s left behind or stressed.
Why couples choose Casa De Campo
During my time at Casa De Campo, I noticed that most people visiting 80% of the guests are groups. It’s truly a location that is designed for celebrations, bonding, and shared experiences. Couples love it because of the wedding venues available, the different activities offered, and it just feels special. Considering having a European aesthetic without traveling across the world for it. Whether you’re sipping cocktails at the Beach Club, playing a round of golf, enjoying a spa day with your bridal party, or exploring historic Altos de Chavón, Casa de Campo makes every moment feel like magic.
Final Thoughts…
I’ve visited a lot of resorts across Caribbean and Mexico, but there’s nothing similar than what Casa De Campo has to offer. If you and your group love culinary experiences, different views to choose from, enjoys a variant of things to do, and love that feeling being in your own small luxury town, than a resort – then you will truly enjoy Casa De Campo resort and Villas. However, this is not for you if you want everything to be within reach and walking distance.
